CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said Sunday he will keep Chad Morris as offensive coordinator at least through the end of the season, even as the Tigers offense keeps sputtering.
The decision followed a 20-16 loss to Virginia Tech on Saturday night at Memorial Stadium, the second home defeat of the year. Clemson managed only 288 total yards, went scoreless in the fourth quarter and dropped to 4-3, with a 2-2 mark against ACC foes.
Swinney said Morris, in his first year running the offense, is putting in the work, but the Tigers need more points. Clemson has been held under 20 points three times this fall and lost each of those games.
Next up is a Halloween night trip to Florida State. The Tigers then play at Syracuse at noon on Saturday, Nov. 7, before a rivalry game against Georgia Tech.
