CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — North Carolina blew past Wofford 109-70 on Friday night at the Smith Center, with Terrence Brown scoring 21 points and five Tar Heels finishing in double figures in head coach Michael Malone’s second win.

Brown poured in 12 before halftime, finished 6 of 9 inside the arc and 6 of 8 at the line, and posted his first 20-point night in Carolina blue. Freshman Maximo Adams added an 11-point, 11-rebound double-double, Jaydon Young scored 15 on four threes, Alex Samodurov had 13 points and seven boards, and Jarin Stevenson finished with 10.

The Tar Heels never trailed. They opened 11 of 18 from the floor, forced Wofford into 11 misses on its first 13 shots, and held a double-digit cushion for the last 14-plus minutes before intermission. Carolina shot 50 percent or better in both halves and held the Terriers to 33.3 percent overall.

Cutter Sisk carried Wofford with 27 points and seven rebounds. The Terriers won the offensive glass 17-14, yet Carolina scored 19 second-chance points to the Terriers’ 10 and forced 13 turnovers.

Shooting carried the night as much as the early run. Carolina made 10 threes and went 23 of 29 at the line, giving the lead another gear whenever Wofford tried to chip away.

The rout also showcased Malone’s early rotation plan. An A group and a B group both contributed, and the second unit alone nearly outscored Wofford by itself. Carolina converts at the line and from deep enough to keep the lead growing even when the starters sat.

UNC is 2-0 under Malone and has won 20 straight home games. Wofford fell to 0-2. The 109 points were Carolina’s highest total since 2019, and the bench alone accounted for 58 of them.
