WILMINGTON, N.C. — Duke took home both trophies at the Landfall Tradition on Sunday, winning the team title and getting the individual champion as several North Carolina women’s golf programs wrapped up their fall seasons on the coast.

The sixth-ranked Blue Devils finished at 5 over par, eight strokes clear of top-ranked Wake Forest and No. 7 South Carolina, who shared second at 13 over. Rianne Malixi carried a 10-shot lead into the final round and closed with an even-par 72 to win by nine strokes over Wake Forest’s Macy Pate.

Malixi’s last round had a bit of everything. Her long eagle try on the par-5 12th clipped the flagstick and set up a birdie, a penalty on the 16th cost her two shots, and she finished by chipping in for birdie on the 18th. Teammate Katie Li tied for fifth at 1 over after rounds of 69, 76 and 72, and Duke freshman Mia Hammond shot an even-par 72 on Sunday, her seventh round of par or better this season, to tie for 30th.

NC State, ranked 34th, tied for 12th in the 18-team field at 43 over. Marie Eline Madsen led the Wolfpack in eighth place at 2 over, her third top-10 of the season, after opening with a 68 that included five birdies. Ellie Hildreth tied for 17th at 6 over and got to 5 under through her first five holes of the tournament with three birdies and an eagle.

North Carolina, ranked 48th, tied for 14th at 47 over. ECU placed 16th at 53 over, and host-area UNCW tied for eighth at 36 over, level with second-ranked Auburn and Kent State.

NC State does not play again until the Dominican Republic Classic in Punta Cana from Jan. 31 to Feb. 2, a spring opener hosted by Purdue.
