RALEIGH, N.C. — Breeze Airways will add two more nonstop destinations from Raleigh-Durham International Airport next summer, including its second international route from the Triangle, with Buffalo service starting June 29 and Nassau in the Bahamas starting June 30.

Buffalo flights are expected to run year-round on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. Nassau service is planned twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays, mostly year-round with a pause during hurricane season. After BahamasAir ended Freeport service in 2024 and Avelo canceled a planned Nassau route before it launched, Breeze would be the only airline flying nonstop from RDU to the Bahamas.

Through August, Breeze had carried nearly 780,000 passengers in and out of the Triangle this year, more than double the same period last year, and has been the fastest-growing airline at RDU in recent years. Buffalo will be its 16th nonstop destination from RDU to cities and suburbs in New York and New England. The airline first international route from RDU was Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, which began two days a week in March. Planned Montego Bay service was postponed while Jamaica recovered from Hurricane Melissa last October.

Raleigh-Durham International Airport is listed locally as the region only major commercial airport and a critical air-cargo and business-travel dependency for the Triangle. Airport authority records place RDU in Morrisville between Raleigh and Durham, with three runways and a longest runway of 10,000 feet, serving the entire Research Triangle region under the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority.

The new summer routes expand low-cost nonstop choices for Triangle travelers heading to western New York and the Bahamas without a connection elsewhere.
